The iDOLM@STER 2

The fifth game of the iDOLM@STER franchise, released on February 24, 2011 (Xbox 360) and October 27, 2011 (PlayStation 3), under The iDOLM@STER 2nd Vision label. The game follows the career of a producer who works for the 765 Production studio and has to work with a selection of nine prospective pop idols.
The game takes place about half a year to a year after the idols first debuted. Although the settings and characters strongly resemble the ones used in the older games, iDOLM@STER 2 is in fact a standalone in the series.

In this game the idols Minase Iori, Futami Ami, Miura Azusa and Akizuki Ritsuko aren't more playable, due to the formation of the idol group called Ryuuguu Komachi with Iori, Ami and Azusa as idols and Ritsuko as producer.
In this game the idols of the Project Fairy appeared on The iDOLM@STER SP (Hoshii Miki, Ganaha Hibiki and Shijou Takane) are idols of the 765 Production. In the story of The iDOLM@STER 2, 961 Pro's Project Fairy never existed.
In this game is introduced a new rival male idol group called Project Jupiter from the 961 Production (Amagase Touma, Ijuuin Hokuto and Mitarai Shouta).

Gameplay mostly remains unchanged from the previous game.
Lessons have been reworked slightly with the exclusion of two mini-games.
Auditions have also been reworked from their original concept. In this game is introduced the new Audition system, with the Live Battle system. Your unit compete directly with other rival unit, and the unit with most points win the battle. Point system was reworked and now all the judges remains during all the audition.
The player can invite two additional idols for a quintet performance for certain songs, resulting in 5 idols on stage.
Also included in the game is the "Stage For You" mode, which resembles SP's "Office Mode", to create a stage without producing an idol unit, utilizing 1, 2, 3, or 5 idols on the stage. All 13 765 Pro's idols are available to use in S4U mode.

Some notable design changes for some characters include Ritsuko tying her hair back; Azusa cutting her hair short; Iori parting her hair to the left, slightly covering her forehead; Makoto growing her hair out to cover her ears; Mami changing her hairstyle to set herself apart from Ami and Miki growing her hair out in front.

Costumes are now classified as Floral, Luxury, and Starry, replacing the old Cute & Girly, Cool & Sexy and Cosmic & Funny categories respectively. The standard versions of the costumes are called Vital Sunflower (Floral), Pink Diamond 765 (Luxury), and Charming Venus (Starry).

The game was ported and re-released to PlayStation 3 in October 27, 2011 and had an special release edition box with the first Blu-ray of the anime The iDOLM@STER, a box that can hold all volumes of the anime, an The iDOLM@STER 2 soundtrack CD and "The iDOLM@STER Gravure For You!" game, that lets you take gravure shots of the idols.
The game have the first three Downloadable Contents of the Xbox 360 version ("Little Match Girl", "Honey Heartbeat" and "Ai Like Hamburger"), the opening song "Ready!" from the anime, "Nana Iro Button", "Alice or Guilty" and "Koi wo Hajimeyou".

The VOCALOID song "World is Mine" and "Melt" was sold in PlayStation Network as extra content, but only Hatsune Miku can sing this song.
